Industrial Sandpaper companies Bosch and 3M are reportedly in a heated bidding war over the coveted sandpaper sponsorship rights for the Australian cricket team.
While in recent years the sandpaper supplier has been considered a low-level sponsorship deal, the deal is considered by many experts to be much more lucrative for the upcoming season, given the high profile use of sandpaper in the most recent test against South Africa.
"We've always considered ourselves loyal to the Australian side" said Bosch Spokesperson Steve Smith (not that Steve Smith) "And so to see them to proudly demonstrating the use of our products is truly heartwarming"
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for 3M said they were hoping to secure the sponsorship rights after seeing the raging success of South African Wicketkeeper Faf Du Plessis' breathmint endorsements "Clearly there's a real market opening up for consumer and industrial products in cricket right now, and we want to make sure we're at the forefront of that."
Cricket Australia declined to comment because they are cunts.
