This week, we have an image supplied by Daniel. We got last week’s submission correct, thanks to some errant paint: Itsukushima Shrine, Hiroshima, Japan.
First Thoughts: Looks like Indonesia, based on the street carts and brands, but could also definitely be Malaysia. Will be tough to pin down an exact location, but let’s see if we can dox this mofo.
Okay, I’m not even sure where to start with this. I can’t read the background signs, and the ones on the stall might be too specific to come up on google. They’re incomplete, anyway. But, I can see in the background that there’s a Malaysian flag, so that’s a start. At least we know what country we’re in. The cheese puffs (or at least some sort of puffs) stall has a sign that reads: “T-U-?-K KEE”, so let’s plug in a bunch of letters to that and search for it in Malaysia.
Okay, Tuck Kee, our first guess, seems to be a thing. I’m getting hits on that. Let’s go deeper. Hmm, on images, this very cute picture of a man doing his thing looks suspiciously familiar. In the background, I can see the same red tiling that we can see in the bottom left of this image. I reckon this is our man, we just need to figure out where he is. Honestly, so far, this has been way easier than I thought it would be.
Leafblog magazine tells me that Mr Tuck Kee’s Curry Puffs is located on Jalan Seladang, across the road from RHB Bank, in Kuala Lumpur. Time to head to google maps and pin this baby down. Wow, okay, so, you can actually just search google maps for Tuck Kee Curry Puffs and it takes you straight there. Shoulda started with that, because that’s the answer. Look, you can even see the same little potted plant!

Final Answer: Mr Tuck Kee’s Curry Puff stand, in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. Took me about 10 minutes. Nobody is safe.
